Francesco Bettariga holds a BSc in Physiotherapy (cum laude, University of Brescia, Italy), an MSc in Strength and Conditioning (High Honors, Middlesex University, UK), and a PhD in Exercise Medicine (Edith Cowan University, Australia). He is currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Exercise Medicine Research Institute (Edith Cowan University, Australia), where his work examines how exercise can influence tumor growth and cancer progression through biological and immunological mechanisms. His research aims to develop precise exercise prescription strategies to improve survival, treatment responses, survivorship, and quality of life in people living with chronic conditions.
Francesco has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in high-impact international journals. His research has also received national and international media attention, underscoring its significance for both scientific progress and public health awareness. Alongside his research, Francesco is a passionate educator and international speaker. He regularly delivers lectures and workshops worldwide, contributing to the global advancement of exercise medicine and translating evidence into clinical practice. He also works directly with patients with cancer, tailoring exercise prescriptions to enhance physical, psychological, and physiological outcomes.

Passionate about scoliosis treatment, this led him to train as an Orthopedic Technician. He is Doctor in preventive medicine and public health from Basque Country University, Spain. Garikoitz is an active member of SOSORT and the host of the SOSORT 2022 Congress in San Sebastian, Spain. He is a teacher at the Catalonia International University. Garikoitz is also the Author of the Scolicomic, “The diagnosis is... Scoliosis”. He continues to develop his clinical activity at the Scoliosis & Posture Center in Spain.
